Our villa in Quesada is situated on the south side of the town. Quesada is a residential area situated a ten minute drive inland. The north side is hilly, resulting in scenic views of the surrounding area, and includes the La Marquesa golf course. The south side very gently slopes downhill towards the La Mata Salina.
There are two salinas (salt lakes) which dominate the landscape of the area. These lakes attract many species of wading birds due to the unique habitat and are conservation areas. Consequently these nature reserves are of great interest to bird-watchers and nature lovers. They are also home to flocks of flamingos, which are lovely to see standing on one leg with their heads in the water. These lakes have a very high concentration of salt (too salty for any fish to survive in), and at times have a pink appearance. As all the roads and residential areas are built around the two lakes, they are often in view and provide a natural beauty to the area. The salt lakes make this area a healthy place to live in, but the affects can also be felt after a holiday there, particularly to people suffering from skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema.
Villa Amarilla is located on a quiet road, conveniently located for shops and bars. The nearest small commercial area is just a seven minute walk away,but there is plenty of parking as well. The town is a fifteen minute stroll where there are a number of restaurants serving a wide variety of cuisines, banks, bars, shops, and a 24 hour garage.
The town and beaches of Torrevieja are a fifteen minute drive. There is a marina, with beaches either side, and a lovely promenade with shops behind. There are a lot of shops here, including fashion, but the undercover shopping mall just outside of Torrevieja provides a good selection of fashion outlets, including such names as Mango, Zara, Pull and Bear and C & A. This is ten minutes from our villa in Quesada on the main road to Torrevieja.
Guardamar is ten minutes away. Here there is an 11 kilometre length of sandy beaches which stretches northwards and southwards from Guardamar. The town runs alongside the beach and there are many bars and restaurants overlooking the sea. The beaches are renowned for the sand dunes which provide a backdrop to the beaches outside of the town. These areas are protected conservation areas and are home to many species of fauna and flora. The pine trees and eucalyptus trees give a verdant look to the beach areas.
If you want a holiday with local amenities on your doorstep, lovely beaches to enjoy (all with lifeguards during July and August) and places to visit, this part of Spain provides it all. However, if you just wish to enjoy the sun, swim in your own pool, and generally relax in your own space, then you will also find this if you stay in our villa in Quesada.
Villa Amarilla
The villa’s accommodation is all on one level and consists of a dining area for up to six people, and a sitting area with two sofas and a television that receives the digital Freesat service which shows most UK channels. There is also a DVD player, and PlayStation 2 complete with a good variety of games. We provide a number of DVDs for use by guests, and there is a range of family games and books.There are three bedrooms; one double with an ensuite bathroom complete with shower, w/c and bidet, and two twin bedrooms which share a shower room with w/c and bidet.
Sliding doors lead from the dining area to the outside terrace. Here there is a table and chairs and a built-in BBQ. There are steps from here down to the garden and pool area, and steps up to the roof solarium.
At the back of the house is a built in cupboard where the washing machine is located.
The sitting room is connected to a well-equipped kitchen (including oven and hob, fridge-freezer and microwave) with a small table and stools. Heading out of the kitchen through sliding doors there is a large covered terrace. The terrace overlooks the pool making it an ideal position to keep an eye on anyone in the pool. Here there is a large table and chairs, and a more relaxed seating area. Steps lead down to the pool with a large terraced area.
Included within this area is a patio with a pergola to provide some shade. At present there are two palm trees which also provide shade. The pool is 12m by 5m which is a great size either for swimming in or playing in. The shallow end is about 4-ft and the deep end is about 6-ft.
Although there is plenty of space on the road, if preferred it is possible to park a car on the property.
The nearest small retail area is a seven minute walk away. Here there is a small supermarket which is well-stocked and competitively priced, and which offers many UK brands. There are a small number of bars and restaurants including Chinese, Italian and English cuisine. There is also a pharmacy, hairdressers and internet. There is also a health centre nearby which will see holiday makers should the need arise. There are plenty of large supermarkets around, but they are a short drive away.
The town of Quesada is a fifteen minute stroll. Here there are a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants, numerous banks, a small bowling alley, a snooker hall, crazy golf, and a small gym.
There is a water park on Quesdada, and another one in Torrevieja (these water parks are only open during peak season so you should check before visiting). It is next to an undercover shopping mall, called Habaneras, which is a fifteen minute drive away. The shops include well-known names, such as Zara, Pull and Bear and C & A.

Bed linen and towels provided. Please bring towels for beach. Suitability We would like the inside of the house to be treated as a non-smoking area. We ask that smokers respect our wishes and smoke outside. There are heaters available for all rooms. The garden is on one level and totally enclosed with lockable gates. There are, however, a number of steps leading from the terrace to the garden which might be difficult for very young children to negotiate (see pictures). There is also an outside staircase leading to the roof terrace.
Although we do not have equipment for young children available in the villa, one of our neighbours hires out travel cots, high chairs etc. There is also a hire shop about seven minutes drive away, which hires out such equipment e.g. a travel cot is 15 euros a week (you have to provide your own sheets and blankets).Special Features This south-facing villa is conveniently situated on a quiet residential area within walking distance of local amenities.

Changeover Day – In July and August the changeover day is Sunday. All other months are flexible.
Payment Terms – A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking. The balance is payable six weeks before departure. There would also be a refundable deposit against damage or breakage of up to £200, payable with the balance. This deposit is refunded seven to ten days after departure, after a satisfactory inspection of the property.
